In HCTech we develop all our products in our R&D department, thanks to own and public investiments.

HCTech has an important experience in the following fields:

HidroBoya with Android Technology

HCTech is developing now the HidroBoya with the Android technology.  HCTech tries to manage the communications within the multiparameter environmental monitoring buoy HidroBoya with this operating system.

Specifically, the HidroBoya uses this operating system in the control module and communications.

Ecodraga: the ecological dredger (FEDER-Innterconecta Project)

This project is the result of work done by HCTech-CIS in the INCITE BAIP2020 Project., whose goal was the design of the Ecodraga, a technologically-advanced and environmentally-friendly dredger

The consortium was formed by Canlemar (dredging company), Nodosa (shipyard) and HCTech-CIS, with the collaboration of the University of Vigo, and the management of CETMAR (Galicia Government Foundation), that manages the project. With a budget of about EUR 1 million, and within three years (2012 to 2014), we want to get the first operational unit of the Ecodraga.

The objectives to be achieved with the new environmental dredging are:

1. - Reducing environmental impact during dredging using a novel semi-closed loop system that prevents water turbidity generation and dispersion of pollutants throughout the water column in the area of ​​dredging.

2. - Providing the ability to treat dredge and/or manage materials with different pollution levels.

3. - Innovating systems for the discharge into the sea with ability to isolate moderate pollution materials.

4. - Design innovation for obtaining greater efficiency in dredging capacity and time in for the transport.

5. - Innovation about dredging process, by incorporating and implementing acoustic technologies that let you view the action of dredging.

6. - Providing versatility to enable to recollect collection features solid and liquid waste floatingthanks to its innovative modular design.

7. - Another research line would be the construction of an auxiliary unit capable of sampling and researching about the geomorphology of suitable sand samples for beaches regeneration projects,etc.



It is an evolution of the HidroBoya that allows to store water samples in those cases in which the data read by sensors are quite anomalous or alarming as so that it be interesting to collect the water sample. This sample collected in a container in the buoy must go to fetch her physically in order to bring it to a laboratory and analyze it in more detail.

What is going to be held is the system of collection, storage and stabilization of these water samples.


Sensors for heavy metals

Control of water quality is an imperative legal established in different standards, as the framework water directive of the European Union. Currently this control requires continuous  and costly campaignes of sampling in situ, transport to the laboratory and analytical. This procedure prevents optimal and desirable control continuously of the quality of the waters.

This project aims to investigate the feasibility of placing microsensors (not available in the market currently) in the HidroBoya for detecting parameters of water quality (nutrients and heavy metals).

Sensors for sea state

The sensors that are currently installed to learn about the Sea State can determine the waves, currents, surface and environmental temperature of water, the wind speed and its direction. These data are too complex for that one person can be an immediate and intuitive idea of what one can understand for sea state, and that it may be important to assess the risk posed by sailing under certain conditions.

This project aims to achieve a complement to the HidroBoya to provide data that go beyond which provide different sensors that buoy has been incorporated to offer a new service aimed at professionals and users of recreational activities that need to know the status of the sea with precision in order to work. The additions of new specific sensors, united with the analysis of image, they will allow to obtain those parameters that can almost only distinguish a human observer expert: type of waves, wind, level of brightness, types of clouds and behavior, mists, etc. This information may be provided accurately and quantified.


This project aims to evolve technologically georeferenced XeoTV video capture utility.

XeoTV HD will work with video in high resolution, 3D video and a significant improvement in the accuracy of the positioning of the camera. We'll apply processing image to enhance the content of the captured videos and even automatic classification of funds.



XeoTV Web

It is a project in collaboration with the port authority of the Canary Islands to develop a web-based interface that allows remote access to the videos generated by the application XeoTV and residents  in other servers.


Ecodraga: the ecological dredger (INCITE BAIP2020 Project)

The project  Polivalente Intelligent Ship for Fisheries 2020 (BAIP-2020) is the big bet of the Spanish shipping industry to improve competitiveness and strengthening in international markets.

The BAIP-2020 is a milestone in the Spanish shipbuilding industry: with a budget of EUR 37 million and involving 21 companies and 28 research groups in 7 regions.

HCTech participates in the package of activities V "Oceanographic Technologies. Characterization and Protection of the Marine Environment", which aims at developing the technologies needed to complement the existing, for a better control of the seas and the regeneration of the marine environment.
